This is such a fun time of year in the Mat-Su Valley. Fall colors are popping everywhere, the harvest is in, and everyone is in the mood to celebrate the changing seasons! Here are a few events taking place in the Valley this fall. Make plans to come out and enjoy the festivities!

1. Rebarchek Harvest Day is this week! This historic farm is the perfect setting for an old fashioned harvest celebration. Bring a bucket and a shovel because you'll get to harvest your own potatoes. Enjoy warm beverages and cheer on the grain harvest with friends and neighbors. Located at the Alaska State Fairgrounds, this event boasts an unrivaled backdrop of the Chugach mountains.

2. Families circle their calendars every year to attend the Fall Harvest Festival at the Pyrah's Pioneer Peak Farm, located at the base of the Butte. Bring the kiddos and enjoy food, fun and games at this local favorite event.

3. The Musk Ox Farm in Palmer is about as unique as a farm can get! Each fall season they hold their annual fundraiser celebration, Oxtoberfest. This event offers a wealth of locally sourced food and refreshment, a live Oompah band, and a crackling bonfire all amidst fields of one of Alaska's most iconic animals.

4. The Williams Reindeer Farm, also out in the Butte area, hosts their own Fall Festival as well. This event includes wagon rides, a hay bail maze, live music, and reindeer of course! Local food trucks will also be at this event.

5. Local community hikes have been championed by Revel Treks and Tours, and there's no better time than the fall to join up with one of these outings and take in the vibrant colors of the season. The group meets at a different location each month and explores the Valley's abundant nature. Don't miss out!

Many favorite summer tours and activities are still available this time of year. Paddle tours, ATV or horseback rides, zipline tours, flightseeing, and jetboat excursions are just a few of the activities that can get you out into this gorgeous fall color in an unforgettable way. Make plans to spend a good part of this season in the Valley where it's all happening!
